Double-sided printing fashion design

In Word XP, when designing gutters for test papers, many teachers insert a text box to the left of the test paper, change the direction of the text in it, then enter the contents of the gutter, and then insert the vertical line. The paper template generated by this method is only suitable for single-sided printed papers, but for double-sided printed paper papers, this method cannot achieve accurate alignment of the front and back binding lines, and even if it is manually adjusted, it is also clumsy. . Is there a simpler implementation? In fact, we can easily implement different settings for footers and page headers on the odd and even pages. The following is the specific implementation steps of this method.

1. Run Word XP, execute the "File/New" command, select the "Template" option to create a test paper template.

2. In the template file, execute "File/Page Setup". On the "Paper" tab page, set the size of the test paper to 8 sheets. In the "Layout" tab page, place the "Header and Footer" "Every odd and even page different" option is selected (Figure 1).

3. In the menu bar, execute the "view/header and footer" command in order, and the interface will automatically switch to the editing status of the header and footer.

4. Move the mouse to the left of the page and click the Insert/Text Box command to insert a text box in the editing area (make sure the text box has no edges).

5. Change the writing direction of the text, and then enter the content that needs to appear within the gutter. After the input is complete, insert the vertical dotted line, and close the header and footer to complete the design of the front gutter.

6. Execute the “Insert/Delimiter” command in the menu bar, and then select “Page break” option in the subsequent interface (as shown in Figure 2). This will set the gutter for even-numbered pages.

7. Similarly, according to the 3 to 5 design method, the design of the reverse side binding line is completed.

8. Click the File menu item and execute the Save command from the drop-down menu to save the newly created paper template. Delete the second page of the template and save the template again. Word XP will only open one page of blank documents when the template is called for the test paper later.

At this point, we have completed the design task of the double-sided printing paper binding line. If the designed test paper is printed and you find the gutters on both sides are not aligned, you can carefully adjust the position of the text box and the vertical dashed line until it is perfectly aligned.
