Endress+Hauser Conducta of Germany manufactures the sensor housing of its CLS 51 conductivity measuring cell with 20% glass fiber-reinforced Victrex (R) PEEK (R). This high performance polyaryletherketone material perfectly balances the chemical, mechanical and thermal properties required to balance the sensor housing. The main reason for choosing Victrex(R) PEEK(R) for this demanding device is that it has biocompatible surface characteristics and corrosion resistant media properties.

Conductivity measuring units are ideally suited for use in the food and pharmaceutical industries. These areas have particularly stringent hygiene requirements for the sensors of the measuring unit. The CLS 51 inductive measuring system consists of three main components: transmitter, conductivity sensor and sensor housing. The cover plays two roles. One is to fix the sensor contained in the molded housing in the pipeline, and the other is to protect the sensor from corrosion caused by flowing through the medium. This system measures the electrolytic conductivity of the medium. The system can use standard connectors commonly used in the food and pharmaceutical industries and can be easily installed in the production line.
