If you are emptied, if there is a little misprinting during printing, there will be a clear leak on the edge of the spot color area. Of course, whether or not to hollow out depends on the image itself, the selected spot color, and the desired printing effect. The following describes the manual hollowing out of spot colors.
1. The spot color channel is loaded into the CMYK channel. Select the main channel in the channel panel, click on the menu "Select - Load Selection", select the color channel name, new selection options, click "OK" (Figure 4). You can also use the shortcut Ctrl (windows) or Command (Apple) and click on the spot channel in the channel panel.
2. In order to facilitate overprinting during printing, the area of ​​the hollow area should be slightly shrunk, that is, slightly smaller than the spot color area. Click on the menu "Select one to modify a contraction", enter the appropriate contraction value, click "OK". For the contraction value, the printer is usually represented by the number of points, and in Ph0tosh0p is set by the pixel. The following formula can be used to convert points to pixel values:
Image resolution (pixels/inch)/72×number of dots recommended by the printer=number of pixels shrinking width
3. At the spot color overprint, delete the contents of the C, M, Y, and K channels, respectively. When using spot color channels, to avoid the occurrence of moiré, two different colors of ink, when overprinted with the same screen angle, will appear on the final print. If spot colors are overprinted on other colors of the image, measures need to be taken to prevent the occurrence of moiré. Especially when there is more than one spot color channel, pay more attention to this issue.
In Photoshop, click on the menu "File page to set a net" option, in the pop-up dialog box to cancel the "use the printer default screen" settings, then select a spot color from the ink drop-down menu, enter the appropriate number of screen lines And net angle (Figure 5). In order to achieve the best printing effect, it is best to consult the printer before setting.
Fourth, save the spot color file correctly
Photoshop saves spot color information in three ways: grayscale mode, CMYK mode, and multi-channel color mode. In order for an image file containing spot color information to be used in other software, it must be saved as Photosh0p DCS 2. O format.
1. In Photoshop, click on the menu "File as" option, select the file save directory, enter the file name, and select Photoshop DCS from the Format drop-down menu. OEPS format, click "OK".

If you find that the name of the spot color in the document is the same, but there are different definitions, it will remind you how to merge the imported spot colors so that you can get the correct separation result when you output (Figures 7, 8). It should be noted that before outputting, it is necessary to check the color separation table of the file and incorporate spot colors in the layout software to ensure correct output.
Use Photoshop to add the spot color information to the image, making the image more vibrant and bright, making the color richer.
