Compact multi-resin system injection manifold system

Mdd-Masters, based in Georgetown, Ontario, has introduced a multi-runner system that can solve the problems of color and material replacement for multi-material materials. The system provides separate runners and nozzles for different materials, while the manifold's thickness is controlled to a minimum. The manifold is welded by two parts and can provide three levels of melt channels. The flow channel is in a gentle curve instead of a straight line. The layout is balanced and flexible, and the stacking height is reduced. The company's composite multi-runner system includes two overmolded monitoring systems, more than 16 chambers, and can accommodate up to 7 materials in one injection mold.

The company designed a four-color system for one customer, with four sets of runners and nozzles, each linked to an injection unit that is being used to produce toothbrushes.
