How to use a low power microscope:
(1) Take the mirror and place it: The metallographic microscope is usually stored in the cabinet or box. When it is used, it is taken out from the cabinet. The right hand holds the mirror arm, the left hand holds the mirror holder, and the microscope is placed on the test bench in front of the left shoulder. The rear end of the mirror base is 7 cm from the side of the table, which is convenient for operation.
(2) Opposite light: Move the rotator with the thumb and middle finger (do not move the lens of the hand-held object), so that the low-power lens is aligned with the light-passing hole of the stage (when the rotation hears the click, the optical axis of the objective lens is aligned with the lens barrel) center). Adjust to a larger aperture and turn the mirror to the light source, the left eye is observed on the eyepiece (right eye is open), and the mirror deflection angle is adjusted until a bright spot appears in the field of view.
(3) Place the slide specimen: Take a slide specimen on the stage, make sure that the side of the cover slip is facing up, do not reverse it, clamp it with the clamp, then move the slide, and you will observe The position is adjusted to the field of view.
(4) Adjusting the focal length: Turn the coarse eccentric screw in the counterclockwise direction with the left hand, so that the lens barrel is slowly lowered to the object lens about 5 mm away from the specimen. It should be noted that when the lens barrel is lowered, do not observe it on the eyepiece. Be sure to look down from the right side of the lens barrel to avoid excessive drops, resulting in damage to the lens or specimen. Then, both eyes are opened at the same time, and the left eye is observed on the eyepiece, and the left hand slowly rotates the coarse pseudo-focus spiral clockwise, so that the lens barrel slowly descends until a clear object appears in the field of view.
If the object is not in the center of the field of view, move the slide and adjust the part to be observed to the field of view. (Note that the direction of the moving slide is opposite to the direction in which the object image moves.) If the brightness in the field of view is not suitable, it can be adjusted by adjusting the size of the aperture. If the stage is lowered by more than the working distance (>5.40mm) and the object is not seen when adjusting the focal length, it means that the operation should be restarted. Do not blindly rise the stage.
