Design Steps of Digital Frequency Meter for V Cone Flowmeter

In the electronic technology of V-cone flowmeter, frequency is one of the most basic parameters, and has a very close relationship with many electrical parameter measurement schemes and measurement results. Therefore, frequency measurement is even more important. There are many methods for measuring frequency. Among them, electronic counter measurement frequency has the advantages of high precision, easy to use, rapid measurement, and easy to realize the measurement process automation. It is one of the important means of frequency measurement.

There are two ways to measure the frequency of the electronic counter: one is the direct frequency measurement method, that is, the number of pulses of the measured signal is measured within a certain gate time; the second is the indirect frequency measurement method, such as the periodic frequency measurement method. The direct frequency measurement method is suitable for frequency measurement of high-frequency signals, and the indirect frequency measurement method is suitable for frequency measurement of low-frequency signals.

The digital frequency meter designed this time uses AT89C52 as the core. The C51 language is used in the software programming. The measurement uses a multi-cycle synchronous measurement method, which avoids the lack of accuracy of the direct measurement method and eliminates the combination of direct and indirect. The method requires the inconvenience of judging the relationship between the frequency of the measured signal and the intermediary frequency, and can achieve a higher frequency and period measurement with equal precision.
