The riparian zone is one of the most diverse, dynamic and complex types of natural habitats on earth, with high biodiversity, and it is particularly noteworthy that the relatively concentrated rare tree species are located in the subtropical mountain river banks. The growth, distribution and adaptation of riparian species and their relationship with the environment have always been a scientific concern in the field of vegetation ecology. In addition, due to the high dynamics of environmental variables in the riparian zone, the relationship between species performance and its controlling factors may be unstable in time, and the time scale (observation timing and duration) should be noted when investigating the ecological process of the riparian zone.
Lianxiang tree is a common species in the subtropical mountain riparian zone. It is also an endemic species of East Asia and a tertiary relic plant. Its long life and clear annual rings make it suitable for evaluating vegetation-climate relationships. The Research Group of Vegetation Ecology in the Wuhan Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences used the Rhizoma Cineraria in Shennongjia Mountain as a research object and found that in a long period (56 years), the correlation between precipitation and radial growth of Rhizoma Citelense was very weak, which affected The widest climatic factor is the temperature in the summer of that year and December of the previous year; in a short period (32 years), the relationship between the width of the annual ring of Lianxiangshu and the climate of the month or quarter is unstable in time, and in most The situation is not significant, only occasionally significant.
These results have identified climatic factors that are beneficial to the growth of the Helianthus tuberosus, and detected the time variability of these favorable climatic factors. The stable and favorable climatic factors in the conservation plan of the Helianthus chinensis are worthy of high attention.
